The service architecture is classed as a strategic tool. It defines the structure and framework between computers, networks, applications and other IT resources with regard to a business-orientated service organization, enabling services to be delivered specific to customer needs and with costs optimized. The hierarchical modeling of the IT resources enables reusable part services to be realized and the level of complexity reduced. The service architecture defines the structure of the services and forms the foundation of the service catalogue and price model and therefore also the basis for a service level agreement.
