| Assessment - Overview |
The basis for a successful change project is formed by a needs-based analysis of its existing IT processes and services. In this context there are various forms of assessment for e.g. ascertaining the process maturity on the basis of the five-step Process Maturity Model (PMM), including the benchmark on the international standard ITIL® IT Infrastructure Library or identifying the gaps in the ISO 20000 and ISO 27000 standards. It is important in this respect to always keep the overall scope in perspective to ensure precise coordination between employees, technology and processes. A status report of individual processes should be conducted on an IT organization’s level of maturity, to the tools used or the prevailing corporate philosophy; recommendations and risk assessments collated and the results presented within the framework of a management workshop. Particularly with assessments it is advisable to consult an experienced specialist who is familiar with the various assessment methods and can present the results in a neutral way. |
